Chelsea Skelton wins on day one at Opglabbeek

On day one at the youth meeting at Opglabbeek, Belgium, Chelsea Skelton topped the young rider big tour 1.35m by more than a sec with Millfield Baloney. 

Ruby Fryer finished ninth on Hillcrest Amiro with a steady clear in this speed class with Theo Simpson on Touch of Chilli 11th, Amy Inglis on Samayava Ar Park in 14th and Aimee Jones 19th on Lilly 483.  Chelsea also posted a steady clear on Caramba for 24th.

Amy and Amadeouse De Hurtebise headed the young rider medium tour 1.30m by an impressive three sec.     

Jack Whitaker headed the 1.25m pony class with Zodianne Van De Doevenbree by 1.39 sec, and also took 10th on Elando Van De Roshoeve.  Antonia Platt on Carnhill Luna took 12th with Robert Murphy in 14th on Rainbows Mocha, Madison Jamison 16th on Eclips VI and Sienna Charles taking 18th with Magic Cornflakes.  All jumped clear.

Robert Murphy eased Opto Mist, his HOYS 2016 pony Foxhunter finalist, into sixth in the pony 1.15m three sec behind the pace.  Madison Jamison was 17th on Sweepstake with a double clear.  Allana Clutterbuck jumped for clear and four on Atomic Du Bary.

Olli Fletcher was also in winning mode, taking the children-on-horses 1.25m speed on Dahar by more than a sec.  He also slotted Temple Rebus into 18th with a steadier clear.  Sienna Charles was also clear on Chaitanya 2 for 21st.  Ellie Hall-McAteer clocked an unfortunate four faults with Dazzle to drop down the line with Ben Clark and Curosa III and Lanverdel, Lily Freeman-Attwood with Topspin and Banana D’Ive Z and Anneliese Aitken on Ghana Boy also incurring four.

Sienna and Westenwind took ninth with a double clear in the children-on-horses 1.15m.

Charlotte Ash took 11th in the junior big tour 1.30m on Galant Van Het Vijverhof with Alex Gill in 18th on Billy Grand.  Leonie Aitkenhead was also clear for 22nd on Clane K, as was Scarlett Charles on Sacree Du Rouet and Katinka Brogaard with Belfast.  Charlotte and Ideal S and Emily Ward with Doobally  and Remi Cavalleri finished on four faults.  Alex and Billy Fanta came home on eight.
