May 23, 2016

Julie Andrews made a successful return to International competition with an incredible three wins over the week in Lier, Belgium, and rounded off the show on the final day with fifth in the world ranking 1.45/1.50m Grand Prix on Eva Bjorkman’s Cantos/Burggraaf 11-year-old Ayrton IV.

Ten contended the jump-off, with winner, Belgium’s Gudrun Patteet running away with victory by two sec.  Mark Turnbull and Cartouch III took eighth after posting a double clear.  Joe Clee and Fento Chin S incurred four faults in round one.

Julie and Wilando B finished sixth in the 2* 1.35m just one and a half sec behind the winner in a strong, 20-horse decider.

And Portia Howard posted a great win in the 1.25m on Alison Claxton’s great veteran campaigner MacGarvey’s Choice, now 18-years-old.  They took a 0.28 sec victory.  Julie and Damion Star finished fifth and Mark Turnbull was ninth on Ashton Dakota.
