Julie Andrews takes a third win in Lier

At her first International show since breaking her ankle in January, Julie Andrews notched up her third win in Lier, Belgium, with Eva Bjorkmann and Emelie Marsh’s Canora, taking the 1.30m with an incredible margin of 3.83 sec.

And Julie also took third in the 2* world ranking 1.45m with the scopey Ayrton IV, a Cantos/Burggraaf 11-year-old in a 10-horse jump-off. Germany’s Patrick Doller and N’Oublieze Jamais won. Mark Turnbull clocked four faults in round one on Cartouch III to finish down the line.

Joe Clee topped the seven-year-old by a sec on Junior Van Het Hulst, and also took sixth in the five and six-year-old with Kady Hof Ter Zeedycke, a six-year-old Cabrio Van De Heffinck mare.

Portia Howard and Alison Claxton’s MacGarvey’s Choice took second in the 1.20m just 0.25 sec off the pace. Mark Turnbull brought the eight-year-old Ashton Dakota into 11th with Julie Andrews and Shankley taking 14th.
