Anna Edwards posts a double in Valkenswaard
Anna Edwards was on form in Valkenswaard. She topped the 1* 1.35m, taking the class by 0.65 sec on the big-jumping, Chippendale Z sired Chesterfield Z. And she then fired Bina Ford’s Darling HDH straight into the winner’s spot in the 2* 1.40m. Steadier clears saw Jessica Mendoza 13th on Constance, Jonathan Buxton and Strides Hilansterne in 14th and Anna Wilks aboard Unducci in 16th.
Anna took third in the 2* small tour 1.35m on Bon Jovi, half a sec behind winner Bertram Allen on Tryba du Lerchenberg. A steady double clear put Jessica Mendoza and Wan Architect into 25th place.
Scott Brash brought Hello Annie into fourth in the 2* 1.45m with Jessica in eighth on Spirit T and Anna Edwards and Blazer B in 11th. Four faults each for Ben Maher (Aristo Z) and Nick Benterman (TJ Mullanacross Maliro) dropped them down the line in the 30-strong jump-off. The USA’s Alexandra Crown, a double winner at Royal Windsor, topped the class on Zafira.
Tim Wilks won with Joker S, winning with a one and a half sec margin, and took fourth on Elizabeth in the 1.35m for seven-year-olds. Ireland’s Bertram Allen took third on Eva W with Trevor Breen in seventh on Enterprise. Scott Brash’s steadier round put Hello Mr President into 13th.
Tim was also sixth in the 1.30m for six-year-olds on Kay and Ben Maher took 14th on F One USA. Tim’s sister Anna topped the five-year-old on L Primero di Gala by almost two sec.
Caroline Breen claimed victory in the 1* small tour 1.10m on the Irish-bred Kilmastulla Douglas, winning by 0.18 sec. And John Daker on Sweet Candy finished sixth in the 1.20m.
