Matt Sampson is a winner in Le Touquet

Matt Sampson lifted the 3* 1.45m on the Coronado/Caletto 13-year-old Cecilia with more than a half sec margin. Nine contended the jump-off with Tim Stockdale and Tornado Des Monts in fourth. Ben Maher and the Clinton/Darco 13-year-old Tic Tac took sixth with Lance Whitehouse on Dior V Overis Z in ninth.

Sam Ward claimed sixth in the 1* 1.35m Grand Prix aboard the Quidam De Revel 12-year-old Quality II in a seven-horse jump-off. Emma Lewis and Irish nine-year-old Doonaveeragh Emma finished in 15th on two time faults.

And Sam eased Sue Hodgson’s coloured nine-year-old Ferndale Special K into seventh in the 1* 1.30m in a 16-horse decider.

Lance and the 14-year-old Vik II took 10th in the 1.50m world ranking Grand Prix, one time fault denying them a chance in the jump-off, won by France’s Penelope Leprevost on Hija Van Strokapelleken.

Louise Pavitt had an unlucky four on Unex Chamberlain Z for 13th, with Nicole Pavitt (Ultimate Z) and Nick Skelton on Big Star also incurring four faults for 18th and 19th. Steven Franks and Carlow Cruiser finished on five faults.

In Mantes La Jolie, France, Alex Hempleman finished seventh in the 1* 1.35m Grand Prix on the Cevin z sired Billy Dinero, just one time fault stopping them contending the jump-off.
