Brits are in the money in Maubeuge

In Maubeuge, France, Nicole Pavtt and the Unbelievable Darco seven-year-old Gemmarco 16 were just 0.15 sec behind the pace to take second in the 1.30m. David Simpson and the Catoki/Cassini I seven-year-old Keoki took fourth and Louise Saywell on Pewit Nono was 13th.

Nicole was also third on Victor Blue in the 1.40m on their first outing since jumping in Spain.

In Friday’s 1.50m, John Whitaker – who made a quick trip to Maubeuge when Lummen 5* was cancelled – took fourth on the For Pleasure 11-year-old Ornellaia. Guy Williams and Titus were sixth.

Saturday’s 1.50m speed carried world ranking points, and Louise Saywell brought the Pikachu Du Muze 10-year-old Patrol V into eighth almost six sec behind the winner. Tim Stockdale and Clark Glasgow’s 11-year-old Fleur De L’Aube took ninth with Robert Smith and Ilton in 12th.

Robert and Ilton took sixth in Friday’s 1.35m table C speed with Guy Williams on Goddigger in ninth. Robert also pushed the nine-year-old Cimano E into fifth in Saturday’s 1.40m. Steadier clears in this speed class put John Whitaker 15th on Cassinis Chaplin and Louise Saywell and the big-jumping ieght-year-old Dassler 18th.

William Whitaker was sixth in the six-bar on Fandango with Nicole and Ultimate Z in equal eighth spot.

Ashlee Harrison eased the eight-year-old Caspar Z into seventh in Friday’s 1.20m and claimed fifth in Saturday’s equivalent. Ashlee also took tenth in the 1* 1.30m on the 12-year-old Grupo Prom Olimpic.
