James Smith is a winner in Hardelot and Jamie Wingrove is best Brit in the big class

Brits filled the top two places in the 1.35m at Hardelot 3*, France, James Smith taking the class on the selle Francais Cumina, a 15-year-old mare by Cumano.  Holly Gillott was 1.50 sec behind with the Indoctro/Gran Corrado nine-year-old Carolus K DHI.  Jake Saywell slipped into fifth on Havinia Van De Roshoeve, a Cicero nine-year-old. 

Jamie Wingrove earned third spot on Ruth Reay’s Chellano Z gelding Cardigan Z in the feature class of the day, the 1.45m.  Guy Williams took sixth on Carlson in the class won by France’s Mathieu Billot on Shiva D’Amaury.

Lucy Warren topped the 1.25m with Alex VD Molen, an Ultimo/Goodwill 11-year-old, with Brits bunched together in the lower places.  Ella Popely popped the Luidam mare Little Luidam into fourth with Laura Renwick on Vagabond De La Pomme/Darco seven-year-old Shiraz fifth and Sarah Lewis sixth on the Irish-bred six-year-old Doonaveeragh Emma.
