Joe Whitaker wins in Vilamoura


Joe Whitaker topped the six-year-old on the Vilamoura Atlantic tour with the Handel/Gino III mare Redhill Fanta by almost a second. Nicole eased the home-bred Paris 16, a daughter of Don VHP Z, into fifth with Emma Stoker and Pembroke 3 sixth. And Joe was best Brit in the seven-year-old on the Vilamoura Atlantic tour on the home-bred Locarno 62 daughter Diola with Nicole Pavitt and the home-bred Unbelievable Darco stallion Gemmarco 16 in sixth.

Brits filled nine of the top 10 in the five-year-old, but Portugal’s Bernardo Moura was faster than them all, winning with Granada.

Jude Burgess took second on the Quadam/For Feeling mare Quite Feeling and seventh on Gimona with Emma Stoker in third and fourth on Vienna and Shariva.
