Grace Barton is best Brit in Royan

March 22, 2016

In France at Royan 2*, French-based Brit Grace Barton picked up a few useful places with her horses.
After taking seventh in the 1.40m speed on the 17-years-young Simon Bontje (pictured), Grace went on to jump clear in the 1.45m grand prix. Unfortunately, a slight lameness was detected and they didn’t contend the jump-off and finished sixth.
“He was amazing and gave his all to jump clear,” said Grace.
Grace was consistently placed in the 1.30m classes throughout the meeting. She was fourth and tenth on Valkyrie – by Darco and out of the Louella Inschalla mare Valhalla – a great International winner for Grace – and sixth with the 13-year-old Darco daughter Inky.
Jemma Kirk took 11th in the 1.40m with a nice double clear on new ride Ayrton UH – an

Indorado/Guidam 11-year-old bought recently from Aileen Craig.

And the horses (and riders) enjoyed a bit of beach life at Royan.
