Laura Renwick takes third in the pairs at Hermes Paris

At Hermes 5*, Paris, in the 1.60m pairs competition, Laura Renwick on Bintang II partnered Germany’s Daniel Duesser with Hidalgo V finished fourth. Laura posted a double clear but four faults from Daniel in round one dropped them down the order.

Jess Mendoza (Sam de Bacon) partnered France’s great entertainer Roger Yves Bost on Record d’Oreal for fifth. Jess posted a clean sheet, but Roger incurred four in round two.

The only team to both post a clean sheet – Finland’s Anna-Julia Kontio (Pacific Des Essarts) and Switzerland’s Romain Duget (Twentytwo Des Biches) took first and a handsome 25,000 euro apiece.

Scott Brash and Hello Forever (0/4) and Belgium’s Gudron Patteet on Sea Coast Ferly (8/0) took ninth.

Millie Allen and the Balou Du Rouet/Quick Star stallion Balou Star took third in the Under 25 1.45m with fellow Brit Emma O’Dwyer in fourth on Echo De Laubry.

One time fault dropped Michael Whitaker and Viking down the line to 12th in the 1.50m, and four faults on JB’s Hot Stuff took 16 th. Both Laura Renwick on the inexperienced eight-year-old MHS Washington and John Whitaker with Echo of Light incurred eight faults. France’s Kevin Staut won the class with Ayade De Septon et HDC won the class.
