March 6, 2016

Guy Williams and his consistent winner Golddigger top the 1.45m

Guy Williams headed the Big Tour C 1.45m with his seasoned campaigner Golddigger again coming up trumps.  Tim Page and Steady The Helm netted sixth spot just ahead of Louise Whitaker on Cuata.

Joe Whitaker and the nine-year-old Lavarno are 1.40m winners

Joe Whitaker topped the Big Tour B 1.40m on the British-bred Lavarno just ahead of fellow Brit Stevie Crosby and TGF Rubin with James Whitaker and Centomento JX in fourth.

Harriet Nuttall and Silver Lift head the Big tour 1.35m

Brits filled four of the top five in the Big Tour A2 two phase, Harriet Nuttall and the speedy Silver Lift taking the class from Matt Sampson on Billy Tortilla and Chloe Aston’s Chateau De Brion Quainton in third.  Mark Armstrong eased Balougio III into fifth.

Henry Turrell and Barbados III, winners earlier in the week, claimed the winner’s spot in the Big Tour A1 accumulator from Tim Page in second on Duc D’Arsouilles.  Abbie Crippen slotted Vilka B into fourth.

Germany’s Katharina Offel claimed the feature, 1.55m grand prix Umeunig in a 12-horse jump-off.  Tim Wilks, who finished second in the previous day’s small grand prix, was best Brit in ninth with four faults on the former Michael Whitaker ride Quelbora Merze.  Spencer Roe and Belcanto Z were just behind in tenth and British-based Swede Angelie von Essen took sixth on Newton Abbot.

Kayleigh Watts and Charmeur take the Classic Tour grand prix

Kayleigh Watts claimed the Classic tour grand prix by almost two sec on Charmeur.  British-based Irishman Dereck McCoppin took third with Whiterock Lucky Lady just ahead of fourth-placed Richard Barton and Donata.

Dereck netted his own victory in the Classic tour C 1.30m on Billy Diamond with Jodie Hall-McAteer in third on Winde.

Ellie Hall-McAteer notched up a grand double.  Ellie and Dazzle were the frontrunners in the 1.20m, winning by an incredible six seconds from Caroline Breen in second on Corcovada.  Jake Elliott was fourth on Carabas Rebel with Millie Mason in fifth on Darc Ory.

And Ellie also headed the Classic tour 1.10m with Blush, again by a massive margin, proving 10 sec faster than fellow Brit Lily Beveridge in second on Wijnand.
